I have been around about a month, never did an intro.
My name is Scott, I live in Northern Utah. I have a 1990 Ranger, XLT Supercab 4WD 5spd 2.9L with 3.73's. My dad bought it new, and I got it from him. I guess the original 2.9 threw a rod at 202,000. At the time I knew ablsolutely nothing about Rangers and had a rebuild 2.9 thrown in (sigh, shoulda had a 4.0). I plan on running it till it dies, then doing the 4.0 swap.
Havent dont anything to it besides a '87 TB and the 4.0Clutch/flywheel/starter swap.
Since its my DD and Off road truck, I only plan on
Ranger 8.8
Lock Right in the back (mebbe)
2 inch level up front
Might make a step up from 235's(lots of highway miles, so prob not)
Maybe switch to 4.10 (anyone wanna estimate how much mpg I would loose?)
Oh. I also have a 56 F100 im workin on. If anyone has any 312 Y-block parts etc..
I have already learned tons from just lurkin, hope to learn more.
