Hey guy! I was wondering, if anyone has Dual Tanks on their 1983-88' Ranger, I'd like to see a picture of the spare-tire carrier please. Prefferably with the tire held on to the side of the bed. I'd like to put my tire back on its carrier like Ford did it. If there is any hardware involved, or if its just a simple bolt and nut I'd have to get.

I have an' 88 XLT Super Cab and I'd like to put the tire back where it belongs. And pictures or if someone can tell me how it went back together, That'd be much appreaciated! Thanks!

its pretty obvious. theres a hook looking treaded rod on the ones i have owned.

real easy to make a superior setup with a trip or two to the hardware store.

this is a floating bar and romex quick release:D this truck didnt have a reg setup, but the home made setup works great to a 35 in tire

in the middle of the support bracket, you can see how to mount a retainer, you can make pretty much anything you want to retain the tire.

you look to prefer an oem application with no worries of 33 in or bigger tires

so i suggest incorporating a stock thread hook from a fullsize car may be a easy way to go and source instant parts.

I have the factory mount. But I was wanting to see what others have done, or what the factory hold-down looks like. I'm not too worried on size of tires. Would a possible long bolt with a washer nut work for it? As long as it'd fit in one of the lug holes?

oh yeah.

the parts from a fullsize car trunk make it easy as the handle nut is easy to turn etc.

it will hook into the factory hole, kind of tee shaped.

I don't know why I didn't think of that before. I'll have to go to the junkyard tomarrow. Going there anyway to get some stock rims. Mine are okay, but I want factory-style in black. Thanks man!
