I have a 1996 B4000 with the plastic factory bedliner. I need to remove the bed and work on the gas tank. What is the best way to remove the bedliner without damaging it? I would like to reuse it.

Is it a drop in liner or a bolt in liner?

For the drop-ins,just make sure any screws are out and lift up from the center in the back. Should bring the sides down so it'll slip out...atleast that's how I do the GM ones at work. I would assume it's the same.

if it's the drop in one all you have to do is take a long screwdriver and pry it out starting from under one of the bedrail corners. once the sides are free it pulls right out. I just installed one in mine and thats the reverse of how I put it in.

The drop in liner isn't bolted in or anything, except the tailgate protector

Ditto on this method, I just had mine out Wednesday to replace the pump. The toughest part of the whole job was the garter fitting on the pressure line that didn't want to let go, took me pushing the tool in, and the neighbor pushing the line and fitting against me. The rest was a piece of cake.
