I removed the bed and gas tank from my 93 Ranger Splash to clean up and paint the frame.
A few of the bed bolts should be replaced, where are these available?
I also need to replace the brake lines from the ABS hydraulic unit to the rear flex hose fitting and from the flex hose fitting to each wheel. Are these lines available or must I make them?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure those are dealership items. Maybe check eBay first so you don't get bent over the table too much.

The rear soft line is available to buy. The hard lines must be made. Buy some 3/16 brake line, you will need at least 16 feet so get a 25' roll, the correct fittings and a flaring tool. Good luck!

For the bed bolts, just go find some metric bolts that are the right length, the factory torx bolts are pretty expensive.

or chop the threads off the clips an reweld some 1/2 nuts to them. thats what i did workeds great! the bed bolts are RIDICULOUSLY high at the dealer

To just replace that brake line from the ABS Hydraulic unit to the rubber flex hose, I used 111" of line (Yes, that's 111" of it.) Just remember that I have a longbed, so you can adjust that according to what you have.

I had to put a total of three bends in it and it worked GREAT!

Oh, be sure to get an adapter that adapts your 3/16" to 1/4" and you won't have to cut off the old fitting and flare anything. That's something I obviously learned the hard way.

I replaced my bed bolts with standard bolts and put a nut on the back. No problems. I thought about, and may do in the future, putting some carriage bolts through the bed, welding a washer to the backside and bed bottom so they stay attached to the bed and using nuts.

I had to make up the lines. 32,34, and a 107 inch long pieces, 3/16" with 3/8 and a 7/16 flare nuts.
The bed bolts are available from Ford @ $8.

Thanks

That's $8 each.

WHAT A DEAL!!!

..and it's a OEM part.

IMO ever tried to get large-long metric bolts at the hardware store? They are FRIGGIN expensive! (sold by the bolt, while you got a large selection of imperial standard bolts, in grade 3,5, and 8. for $1.69/lb.
