Thats right ....... I bought a Ford.......... I would have bought a V8 Explorer but everywhere we went the dealerships wanted a mint for the 2002/newer.

I went out looking for a Suburban today. Every Suburban I looked at made from 1997 through 2003 was a beat up POS priced about $5000 more than it was worth.......... I mean c'mon ........ $8000 for a 99 1/2 ton non diesel Suburban with 146,xxx miles with a broken A/C and non functioning cruise control. I looked at 10 fullsize SUVs, Darangos, and Explorers...... all of them over priced beat up POS's.

at the last place I was going to look they had this 1998 Fullsize SUV sitting in the grass. Clean, no rust....... 102,XXX miles. Everything works.... drives good and needs nothing immediately, Hideous color....... no price. I asked the guy how much and my jaw dropped when he said $6800 ($8000 with tax and title). I put $1200 down and have 23 payments of $300 and one final payment of $136........... plus he gave me 7 days to get it checked out and return it if I am not satisfied. I got it checked out that very hours and finished the paperwork at 9 pm.

I have to add my first thought was it has a salvage title....... has a clean Georgia Title. I took it to the Ford dealership and the technician said it shows no evidence of a major accident (should have gotten a vin check) but has slight front bumper damage (so slight I didn't notice until it was pointed out) and I cannot figure how the 6 disc CD changer works. I thought I had the CDs in backwards so I turned them around and it still doesn't work...... it has power, the head unit can see it........ it can't read the CDs and the CD cassette only fits in 1 way ..... I am stumped ........

Will post pics tomorrow (because it was dark when I got home), you will have to come back to see what I bought ..... mebbe you could try to guess .......

If I remember this post, I'll be dying of suspense to see if its a Lincoln Navigator. If I forget this post, it will be business as usual.

I will be posting pics this afternoon......... I now know why the price was decent ....... it has an aftermarket alarm hooked up to the factory security system ...... it went off every hour last night. I had to sleep with the keys in my hand so I could turn it off every time it went off......... just took care of that problem .......... couldn't find the alarm's control module so I clipped the siren.......... going to take it to the dealership and get the aftermarket stuff removed.

Navigator is a good guess, but no, the only Navigator I seen was a 2001 and about 15 grand...... did not even consider an Escalade although there was one parked next to the Navigator......... didn't want a Navigator anyways because the engine in those require 91 octane (according to the owner's manual in the one we looked at, I looked because we were filling the Continental with 87 octane until I was going through the owner's manual looking for something else and found the passage about emission control damage will occur with continuous use of the wrong grade of gasoline)

Let's hope the pick-up device has some gook (no...not a North Vietnamese sympathizer) stuck to it....a slightly dirty cd will mess it up......especially a cd with a fried-chicken-grease-fingerprint on it....

I bet its an Expeditious.

Indeed it is an expedition.

Good buy, even with the wonky alarm system.

No fair editing the original post with pictures and making us all look like dumbasses. That's against the Geneva convention, or something.

That's quite a bit of space between trailers in that park. When my brothers lived in trailers there was so little space I have no idea how they parked them.
