BC forest fires

Last night, on my fourth night of my holidays, my first real holidays in 3 years, I was evacuated from Lillooet, BC due to a forest fire. Right now the fire is about 500m from my grandparents house, and my great aunt and uncle's house. This fire is scary. The pictures don't do it justice. My black PT Cruiser was looking white with ash, and my grandmother white Crown Victoria was looking black with soot. I was in a huge hurry packing cars up, so this was all i snapped.

This was from Seton Lake at about 5PM.

This was from my grandparents driveway at about 7:30PM

And this is from when we were at the train track, just about at the hill out of town. This was across from the Reynold's Hotel at about 9:00PM.

Right now I'm in Price George, my Grandparents and my Great Aunt and Uncle are at my Aunt's and Uncle's place down by the river, where its safer. I was trying to stay out of the way down there since I didn't have to be there, its just 2 less people they have to deal with. I've been watching the news trying to keep tabs and as it seems, the fire has stayed in place.

I hope everything turns out fine for you. One of the nice things about living in the east is not worrying about forest fires.

My BIL is flying helicopters out there fighting the fires. Not too shabby since he only just got his cert.
