we bump started girl friends truck last night.
it has head lights and radio but when they key is turned to start nothing happens it just makes a click noise.
do you guys think its the starter or a corroded starter wire?
thanks
dan

It could be the wires, the solenoid, or the starter. Measure the amps being drawn by the starter using an ammeter that you can hold up next to the big wire. If out of spec, you likely need a replacement. Make sure the ground wire is connected tightly and the battery cables are tight on the battery posts.

if you don't figure it out by evening, when it's dark have her turn the ignition like she would start it and watch in the areas of the cables and grounds, if you see sparks you found your problem.

just hearing the click of the solenoid is usually a toast battery or a bad connection somewhere
