The gauge never changes(stays in middleish) when the light comes on. It doesn't seem to be affected by rain. I will clean the battery terminals, however, I don't think that is it. the battery voltage is at a little under 12 with engine off and about 14 with it running. These tests where done when the light happened to be off. The battery is about 2 years old. I replaced the ALT about 2 years ago. While doing it I broke the little gray connector with the single wire so that now it can slide out of the ALT. I fiddled with that connector and I think it might be what is causing the light to come on and off.What is the single wire with the gray connector for? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Also the belt is older but does not squeal.
