Battery light on. new alt new battery.

So I installed the 130a alt in my 02 with a new battery. but ever since then then my light has been on. Do i need to upgrade the wires to lager ones? any idea what it could be? I have been googling every thing i can, and to no avail come up with a answer. just thought i would pick your brains. Let me know

Have you checked the grounds?

Rechecked them all just now and put on new terminals. No change

Get a Volt meter, set it for DC Volts, i.e. 20vDC setting

Battery voltage with key off should be 12.3 to 12.8 volts
Starter engine, battery voltage should be 13.6 to 14.8 volts.
If battery voltage with engine running is less than 13.3 volts then alternator is not working, which is why battery light is on.

Could just be a blown fuse, look in the Power Box in engine bay

So it went away and has not returned. I disassembled the alternator, gave it a good cleaning, put it back together, and it is good as new. The battery light off is off.

RonD it was working perfectly fine only thing that was at fault was the light was on it was charging as normal.
