Ever since i got my 99 when i hit 4000 Rpms the battery light would come on and the voltmeter would go down. Is this normal or why??? also there is two cables going to the throttle body. one goes to the gas pedal. where does the other go???
Thanks

I don't even want to guess on the electrical issue.

On the cables going to the throttlebody, do you have cruise control?

yep
the only reason i asked about it was becuase i called an autoparts store to buy a new one and the guy basicly told me i was a retard and that there is no such thing as a cruise control cable.
Thanks

The guy at the auto parts store isn't entirely a retard but he's also no brain surgeon...

there is a cable that the cruise control uses to actuates the throttle, but it is NOT seperately replaceable.

Atleast on the earlier trucks the cable is part of the vacuum operated
cruise control servo.

So yes there IS a cable
but NO it wouldn't appear in his parts listings.

mine is a 99...so what do i need to buy to replace the cable???
Thanks

Beef,

Regarding your battery light problem: no, it isn't normal. Take your alternator to an auto parts store that offers free testing. I suspect that you have a problem with the voltage regulating circuitry in the alternator.
