I recently replaced the spider gears in my 99 ford ranger, 7.5 rear end. I have been breaking them in gently for a week now. I had put 225 miles on it with no issues, no noise, no loss of power...then, today i was making a sharp turn at low speed and CLUNK...the same noise and jerk i felt when they were going out the first time. Could this be a part of the break in process? I'm super bummed because of all the time and money i just put into to it. Any help or suggestions about what to do would be appreciated.

Limited slip rear end? If so the clutches could be so worn out that the spiders are spreading apart and not meshing properly, usually causing the tips of the spider/side gears to chip.

I would get an 8.8 under then if you keep breaking spiders on her.
