Ball joint question

Hello all I'm working on a 95 4x4 . I can't get the lower ball joint nut to budge. I have tried heat and lots of PB blaster. Can I cut it off at the dust boot and still press it out of the knuckle. Thanks

You'd still be able to press the BJ out from the knuckle, but with the nut still on, that piece of the stud left in the "C" (axle beam) ain't ever goin' anywhere.

You can't get a wrench or socket on it by going through the hole of the knuckle?

I threw everything I have at and can't get it to budge. I heated it red and hit with a 1/2" inpact. Put a wrench on it a beat it. I was just thinking if I cut it and remove the knuckle I could then get in and cut the nut off the remaining stud then hopefully be able to drive that out..

you could always just take one step away from the process and cut at the bottom of the nut first

Remove the axle shaft (if it isn't already out) and take a saber saw down the middle of the stud, from the top. Stop a few mm shy of going into your beam, and crack the nut off with a chisel.

There isn't a lot of room to swing inside the beam, it is the weight of the knuckle and the vibration of the hammer shots together that un-cone the ball joint.
