Alright,

Some of you know me for Mustang forums as I've found out, and if you know me at all you know I do my homework, and mod only once - so it can take a long time between mods, however I ALWAYS do a build page with Lots of Pic's - Generally I completely transform a vehicle before I get tired of it, and then eventually sell it;-)

The current Setup:
1990 Ford Ranger Supercab 4x4
4.0 A4LD 72k miles on it Pacesetter headers on it with no exhaust beyond headers
Rust in the bed - pretty bad on drivers side, slight rust under the cab, faded paint, flat black hood, perfect interior.

Overall Plans:
-Replace Tranny - either a rebuilt A4LD or M5OD switch - will have funds for this in about a Week and honestly will depend on What is availiable at the time I have the money.

- Fiberglass Front fenders and Fiberglass Bedsides - 3 or 4 inch flare only
- Still deciding on if I should go with the Modern front setup to like a 98 model as they sell the kits.
- Exhaust - nothing near the rear axle as I plan on jumping this - I live in Florida by tons of Sand... So side dump in front of rear axle, probably under the cab on passenger side
- Lift - this part is being worked out, want to utilize the TTB so i can launch it, 12 inches of travel stock is insane, seen a decent kit with 19 inches of travel in the front, and rear setup will be my torch and welder setup with resevoir shocks, probably 63's etc..
- Inside - Wet Okales, little stereo with one sub - maybe some dynamat and weathertek floormats - I surf Alot
- Rims and tires, probably at 35x12.50 on a 15x8.5 or 16x9 inche rim with decent backspacing so the flares don't look stupid.
- Built 8.8 - 31 or 35 spline, geared with selectable locker - probably Ox locker
- Custom paint once all the issues with fitting the fiberglass fenders are worked out.

This is my daily driver once I sell the Saleen and the 4Runner - but will buy a house during this build, and also pick up a Motorcycle Again - looking at Fatboy Low in flat black - and use the bike for daily duties when I don't have my kids - 15 days of the month basically.

Feedback welcome, and I'm at work so no pic's of the shamble that I'm calling my truck right now.
Alright, this is the ugly thing I'm starting with, but seriously got it for STEAL of a price:)

And the new Tranny cooler which did nothing because the seals are too shot in the tranny, and now probalby going 5-speed;-)

Nice truck! Gotta get that thing offroading!

Alright, still need to figure the tranny out, but just got a deal i couldn't pass up, got a 6 inch Front Superlift Lift for 100 bucks, then picked up a set of extra locking hubs, and spare TTB's and an extra pumpkin with 4:10's in it and some extra's for 50, so 150 and I'm in Business:)

Wish I had your budget =P

I am barely keeping my ranger....

Hahah

Wish I had your budget =P

I am barely keeping my ranger....

I have no Budget right now, hence why my car and 4Runner are for sale. Only reason i had the money to get the Lift was because I had just sold my brembo's off the Saleen. The Seats in the car are selling and that's how I'm getting the money to do the tranny, putting the car back to stock, then selling it:)

Once the Ranger is running good, with no issues the 4Runner is going out the door, then I'll be doing alright on money with no car payments, and I have some extra money coming soon so I'll be able ot pay my credit cards down:) Then buy the house, and be broke constantly;-)

Sounds like you got a plan Trevor! Had to see the stang go though, with as much work as both you and Q put into it...

She's a beaut! And that ain't even rust... haha!

Good lord, got all the lift parts, got some spare axles now, still no tranny had a ZF but it wouldn't work in my budget, so looking for a Exploder or 5speed4wd Ranger to grab all the swap stuff out of, had a good one then the guy just disapeared, was 30k ford rebuilt engine and 2 years old New Tranny and transfer case for 450, of course he's nowhere to be found now:(

I've been super sick, so go to work, come home, take medicine pass out, got misdiagnosed last Monday and got worse and worse, ends up I have sereral things, Pink Eye in both freaking eyes and Strep along with etc...

Got some GOOD drugs today to take care of everything and something for the pain as well:)

Once I get the tranny in, EVERYTHING will speed up, but it's not driveable now, and I'm parting my car out back to stock, and driving the 4Runner everywhere, not to mention being a dad of 2, no time............

Get the tranny in, and then i have access to the Lift's on base as well which makes everything so much easier, lift will be on in no time, will wait till i can afford tires though. Found a really good deal on the Geolanders in 35's though so that may be the tires that go on here - can't beat the price with a road warrenty on them as well.

Wow,

Super frustrated, finally got time to pull the tranny and DAMN, to get my header bolts off on the crossover pipe, 3 hours and had to buy a torch finally, then my crossover was froze on, good thing I got the torch cause had to cut it off, got it all loose and lowered the tranny, then it got dark, and mosquito's came out, GRRrrrr

Oh well, new seals in tomorrow and throw it all back together:)

Hope it all works out - tomorrow but everything taht could go wrong today, did...

Update tomorrow probably.

Took my new in frame crossmember out of the box today at lunch, NICE, powder coated black and beefy as hell, love it and it will tuck a very low point on myu truck up by a good 4-5 inches:) Too bad I'm putting the radius arm drop brakets on soon though ahahaha.

The ones you ought to consider are the ester based ones - Fuchs Pro S, Redline, Motul 300V, Millers CFS or Gulf Competition. They last a lot longer than other oils on track and give better protection. Lee, Rock oil is a basic option and although it's cheap, it really isn't very good. You'd be better off using one of the ester oils and getting the full use out of it (roughly 10 solid hours of track use). Even if the Rock oil is changed every session, the ester oils will be giving better protection even after several hours of use.

A few of my trucks have had leaking transfer case parts and its a pain to find good refurbished units. Any one got any suggestions other than junkyards?

The update:

My car is getting closer and closer to stock, but I'm driving it again, took my spare time this weekend to get the car back to roadworthy, now have a sticking caliper on the stock brakes. This upcoming weekend I have nothing except at 5k run for cancer or something, after that I'll do the seals and get this freaking truck on the road:)

After that have a bed for it already with no rust on the bed or tailgate just hve to drive to switch it out, then I'll probably just get a macco job on it and drive it in the stock form for a while while I decide if I'm keeping it or using it as a trade in on a new truck or jeep.

Too many projects at once, so no patience for this one:(

Seals replaced, tried to stab by myself but pulled torque converter off, dropped it again and reseated converter then ran out of strength, hopeing to get it back together and get it runnign soon, house is closing and I want to use it to move a buch of stuff, then I'll do the 5 speed swap once i have time as I don't trust the auto anymore.

It's gone - traded it straight across for a 91 F150 SWB 5.0 5-speed 4WD:)

F150 runs great, frame is perfect, tranny and clutch are great but body has some rot in the usual places.

Super happy with the trade:) Moving into my new house on 23rd and this will work perfect for helping me move:)
