Blew my dang T-case Saturday (elect. 1354), would not power the front diff and made a hell of a banging noise while decelerating in low range ..... any guesses???

Pulled it apart to find the snap-ring flange that retains the
planetary gear set broke completely off, .

Still have my old 1350 sos I'm hopin THAT half of the case is interchangeable with the broke one.

When I changed from a 1350 to the 1354 it cost me $285.00 for a custom front drive shaft.

Thursday (today), just found out I also have a broken right side axle stub (inside the hub) so I'll upgrade to Chrome-Moly axles.
I remembered I ran into a ditch with my brakes locked up, the ditch ran "acrossed" the trail and I couldn't stop in time, this happened twice that day.
The GOOD news is the only difference between a 1350 and a 1354 electric T-case is the front output shaft, was able to make the repare just by swaping case halves.

what were you doing when it blew? i am trying to picture how that would break in that manner. got some pictures of the carnage?

T-case

Wasen't doing anything abusive, just playing in new snow, mud and water in the hills, didn't know anything was wrong till two days later when I went out again.

Don't know how to post pics here, when I try, cant seem to get my pics out of my folder.

i actually dont know how to post pictures either. what i have done is put them on my cardomain page and put the link to the page in the post. (its also in my sig.)
