I'm workin on a truck (actually an S10, sorry guys) and we just changed the clutch, but couldn't afford the slave cylinder so we were hopin it was still good. We got itall done and bled out the clutch lines. We have a good amount of pressure on teh pedal at all times now and are pretty confident there is no air in the system. It still does not want to go into gear with the truck running. I can also put it in gear when its off and start it that way, but cannot shift.

The reason we changed the clutch in the first place is because it was just slipping very badly, but it was going in and out of gear just fine before.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

Does the tranny have an inspection hole so you can look if the pressure plate is getting pressed in? Is it leaking fluid anywhere? Is that an internal or external slave? :icon_confused:

It's inside the bell housing, but readily accessable if the tranny's out (don't have to open the tranny to get to it) Not sure if thats internal or external.

No leaks. And i'll have to wait for a friend to see if the pressure plate is getting pressed in. IT does have an inspection hole, so i should be able to see this when i get some help.

I also heard this could possibly happen if the clutch disk was installed backwards. Is there any truth to that?

yeah, happened on my bro's 90 S-10. you might want to check it first. lol
