I have a 1992 Ranger 4.0 L just replaced the master clutch cylinder which also came with a new clutch sensor, now I am getting no crank, as well as the fuel pump does not seem to prime when I put the key to the run position. I would say these are related as when I was looking at my chiltons manual and the clutch switch looks like it is connected to that circuit as well. I have check all fuses and relays just to be sure and everything is testing fine.

The clutch switch is not connected to the fuel pump circuit. That switch is just a few open/closed switches, and so if the fuel pump was run through it you would cut power to it every time you worked the clutch.

Your problems may well be related, but the clutch switch won't cause the fuel pump to not prime.

Thanks for the update, this is from a swap that I did into a 87 Bronco II, would it possibly be that the sending unit from the Bronco II is not compatible with the ranger Wiring ? Although when I trip the pump relay the pump does turn on

As said above the Fuel pump relay is not part of starter motor wiring.

When you turn the key on the EEC relay in engine bay will close, this sends power to EEC(computer), fuel injectors, ignition system, and Fuel pump relay.
The power it sends is from a 30amp fuse, EEC fuse

Fuel pump relay has no Ground so even with power it will not close, computer controls the ground for the fuel pump relay.
Computer should Ground FP relay for 2 seconds each time key is turned on, as you said it Primes the system.
Power it sends to fuel pump is from a 30amp fuse, FP fuse

Clutch switch allows power to pass when it is closed, pedal is down all the way.
For starter motor this means when key is turned all the way to START the ignition switch sends 12volts to clutch switch, if it is closed then that 12volts pass thru switch and goes to Starter Relay, starter relay can be on the inner fender or on the starter motor, in the early '90s Ford combined starter relay and starter solenoid into one part on the starter motor.
Earlier starters just had one larger cable and solenoid on the starter motor, later models had larger cable and smaller wire, from clutch switch, to activate starter relay that was now built in to solenoid/starter.

There are also other wires on the clutch switch, these are for cruise control(disengage), 4WD low(if 4WD)

thanks for the clarification, so essentially I might be dealing with a bad ground or eec in regards to the fuel pump not priming, and the clutch switch just could coincidentally might just be bad as well
