I just got my 3in body lift installed on my 02 Ranger FX4 L2 and i know my stock 15x7 Alcoa rims will not work with the 33x12.50 that i ordered so can you give me a few different types of rims to look at i am wanting to stay away from steel wheels b/c of the weight or will it make much difference? Would i be better to get a 15x8 or a 15x10? From what i have read stay at 3.75in backspacing and i should not have any rubbing in the front end, correct?
Thanks in advance

When you get into bigger wheels, aluminum will be much lighter.
The wheel bearings on the late-model front axle will be happier with 15x8's. There are 15x10's with 3.75" backspace but IMO that puts too much weight and stress farther out, and again it will be hard on the wheel bearings and tie rod ends so with a 15x10 I'd look at 4.0" to 4.25" backspace.
If you off-road then a 15x8 will be less likely to pop a bead or smash the lip. Handling on-road will be better with a 15x10.

It will be mostly on road with 10 miles a day driving in the mud and dirt on the way to the mines where i work. The 4.25 backspacing will rub on the valance in the front if im correct and is that the only place, b/c i dont care to trim it alittle.

I'd get the 10's and just keep an eye on the front wheel bearings and tie rod ends.
.02.

And what would you be doing with those 15x7s? :D

Im going to hang on to them for now......

I rock 15x10 w/ 4" backspace and 40k into having them, and having oversize, wide offset wheels since 60k, I now am at 109k on the stock wheel bearings and dont understand naysayers for 'too much weight and adds way too much stress"... I've not had a peep from my wheelbearings.

I vote: It's your opinion....it depends on the look you are after. Do you want tall and fat? or do you want tall and slightly wider? 8" tends to wear out 12.50's faster in the middle of the tread...10" tends to plant the tread on the ground more properly. 8" w/ 3.625-4" BS or a 10" with 4" IMO. You want sticking out past the flares? Or just inside the flares?

I think im going to got with the 15x10 b/c i want them to stick outside the fender flares and I dont care to do some trimming on the valance but id prefer not to do any fab on the fender since it will be mostly for looks and i just want to change the way my ranger looks.

since when has modifying/cutting been considered 'fabbing'? Generally...no matter the lift, if it's a wide tire on off set rims, and the truck is a 01+, there will be trimming of the valence. I've got VERY little trimming on mine, and i still rub the 35x12.50s and i'm 4" suspension lift and 3" body... need more trim. lol.
