Ok I'm getting confused trying to figure out backspacing and offset and different combinations of them both, so I figured I'd ask.

I want to put some treadwright at's on my truck (eventually) on black steel cragar rims, haven't decided which ones yet but I kinda like the V5's. I am putting 31/10.5/15 on for a tire size. Basically, what backspacing and offset do I want? The tech library has two different numbers, not sure which one is best. I want to avoid rubbing issues of course, but other than that would prefer whichever rim will give me a bit of a "wider" look. I plan on getting 15x8 rims for the tires.

So, do I need 15x8's with 3.75 backspace and -19mm offset, or would 4" or even 4 3/4" backspace be better (those are the options on other cragar's I'm also looking at)?

The higher the backspacing, the closer the wheel will be to your frame.

Backspacing and offset are not the same thing.

Generally for RBV's, a 3.75 - 4.50 backspacing is optimal.

These wheels are 15x8 with 3.75" backspacing. The rims themselves dont stick out, but because the tires are 12.50's they stick out just a little.

If these wheels had a 4.00" backspacing, they would stick out .25" less.

Ok thanks. And do you have anu rubbing issues with those tires when turning the wheel all the way to the lock?

Yeah they rub on my radius arms. But it's no big deal.

Is it bad? Those are much wider than what I would be putting on, so I don't think I would have a problem with 31's

i love the rangerstation i have an 2007 im looking for prob basic steel wheel i want 12.5 rubber and want it to stick out a little but i dont want to get mirked by the cops for being to wide. 3" sounds good or maybe 2" whats more practical 3" backspace or 3.75
