Anyone had their back glass replaced? if so does the new one mount flush against the cab? i just got mine done and had to go back because the top part of it isnt mounted flush and looks like it will leak more than before. took it back and the guy said thats as far as it goes and it wont leak. it also looks like the headliner wasnt put back right. so is the guy telling the truth that it wont mount flush or just bull shitting me?

gotta be bullshit... if anything they can at least seal it right?

contact the BBB if nothing happens... as them being professionals, they should tell you in advance if it's going to leak... you know?

i would rather them not just fill the crack with something and call it good. i paid to have it replaced and it damn well better be done right. im going to call back tomorrow and demand my money back and hopefully another glass place will be able to reuse the glass since it was the only one in town. i will try and get a pic of it tomorrow.

This looks like the best place to ask this question, I know on a lot of forums, people don't like new members starting threads, etc...

I just bought an 08 Ranger Sport and it doesn't have a rear window. All the other Rangers I looked at had it. Can anyone explain this? Thanks in advance.

P.S. I don't care that there is no rear window, I am just curious why this one wouldn't have it...

anyone can start threads here. nothing wrong with asking a question. chances are it was just busted out and never replaced.

Ha! I guess I was tired when I posted that last night, that made no sense...

No, I mean, my new truck doesn't have the usual, sliding back window... I looked at a bunch of these things and they all had the opening back window. Is it part of the SPORT trim package or something, that the 2008 doesn't have an opening back window?

The truck is stock all over (it only has 17,000K on it) so it hasn't undergone any customization... I'm just curious as to why it doesn't have the sliding window at the back when literally all the others I looked at did.

Thanks, again...

The sliding rear window is an option, not standard equipment.

I am going to be upgrading to the rear window with slide window. do I call a glass replacemnt or the dealer?

how much?

and is it as simple as popping the old one out and popping the new one in? thks

i know what you mean, but sometimes stuff just doesn't fit.... most likely they aren't going to mold you a 100% custom measured piece for your rear window.

i know you don't want a good enough rear window, but they can only do so much. but i know it shouldn't leak, that part is bs... you would think that would be a standard test when installing glass.

i would call an automotive glass place. i called around to a bunch of places and got prices as high as 400 bucks to 190. i got prices for both the slider and one piece and was told since it was originally a slider i would need a gasket set for the one piece. so you may also need one to go from solid to slider. just a guess though.

oh and they may have a place to sign that says you are satisfied with the work they did so DO NOT sign it till you actually go out and look at it.
