I just got my 88' Ranger and I am' contemplating What to do to it. Do I return it back to stock 100%? Do I slam it? Do I lift it? I am' at a loss here. I already took the visor, running boards and bug deflector off it. I think it makes it look goofy IMO. The roll bar is there so far. I like lifted trucks, lowered trucks, street trucks and even Mint stockers.

I was wanting an' Opinion on what would You guys do?

88' 2wd, 2.9L V6, Automatic. SuperCab

Also.. Since its that weird blue, I was wanting to know where I could find the paint code. I want to know what color it is exactly.

:icon_confused:

For the paint- drivers side door sticker is where mine was, should be a code there. Mine was YN= cayman green.

I "lost" my bug deflector as well. Ugly. Not that many bugs around here though, at least right now.

When I looked over my truck I decided it was in relatively good condition, but it's never going to be 100% classic car show material without serious work and money I dont have.. it has a 3" body lift and I like how it looks.

Depends on the condition to me really what you do with it..

Only problem with lifting it, is that is 2wd. Would it make sense to lift it? I don't have a barcode on my tag. Its too old for that. Some of the codes don't make sense. Like for example: mine says Exterior: 3E WB: 125. Paint Colors: 9Z GVWR:R1 46. Tape 2 DSO:VC.

I think in the near future I'll make it abit of a pre-runner. Or at least lift it a little bit. For now, I'll just make it look like a nice stocker pickup. :) There's a 89' thats already slammed but it looks slick. Its green and for sale!

Id like to see a pre runner 1st Gen. Or 2wd lifted version. Seems that regular cabs are more popular for doing any modifications to.

Do a mild lift.. 3" or so. Trim the fenders cleanly. Do some 31" bfg at's or something... Simple capable clean.

8.8 swap out of a 96+ explorer. 4.10's LSD disc brakes. Maybe a 4.0 swap(you'd love the truck alot more with a 4.0!)

I ain't real big on lifted 2wd's.

If it were me, I would go with the back end kicked up a little with bigger wide tires in the back and a little smaller tires in the front. I would be looking for a 302 as well.

Or stock with decently sized 15" wheels. They put donuts on there originally that I don't really care for either.

Would putting different tread width tires in the back work too? I had a 86' Silverado and the rear tires had wide tread compared to the stockers on the front. It made it looked like the truck was kicked up in the rear. I'm wanting a 4.0 but I won't officially be able to do anything until this summer. But I like these ideas. :)
