Any tips on how to get to the back two spark plugs on the left (driver's) side of a 2.3L?

Do I take off the Throttle Body Injection piece, the TBI to intake manifold adapter, something else?

remove the intake or use extensions/universal sockets to reach them.

removing the intake was longer put more "fun" for me..got to know how everything works a bit better..you can clean everything up real nice when you do that, so its kinda worth it.. but if the shorter route is what you desire, go with the extensions!!

good luck though

Plug Replacement

I removed the oil filter and worked underneath and sorta felt the plugs and removed and replaced them with the help of someone above guiding the extensions. if you look real close, you can see that the extensions fit through the openings in between the intake piping.

I bought a 15"extension with a swivel spark plug socket attatched to the end Got it from autozone for like 13 bucks.. Had no problems at all.. slid right onto the spark plug

Them are a pain but I finally got them with a good ratchet, extension, swivel and spark plug socket to me putting in the new plug was worse than coming out.I personally wouldnt take off the intake however i did take off the EGR valve to help a bit with clearence but my truck is also lowered.Either way a few beers later and it was all done.

I was just at Checker Auto about 3 hours ago, they have a special tool for it. It's basically a T shaped handle with about 10 inches of length to a swivel ratchet. Looked like a pretty slick design, and for $6.29 a piece, i might go get one tomorro when i have time.

10" wobbly extension (not a universal or swivel). Makes an easy reach, with minimal "sag" of the socket.

back two plugs

i took my intake and egr off i had about 4 or 5 bolts and the egr left the throttle hooked up and layed them over new intake gasket for about 5.00 and a new egr gasket for about the same 12 hour it as done of course i don't drink booze so it goes faster haven't had any problems since.:yahoo:
