The Malibu I bought back in August got rear ended a few weeks ago and the guy's insurance ended up totally it....so I have been looking for a new DD since. I picked this '96 up for $1200... it is extremely clean, no leaks, no noise, no oil buildup anywhere! But it has 190k on it.

Planning on just driving it till the wheels fall off... it has a 2.3/5 speed. Besides painting the topper white and putting some different tires on it I am not going to change anything.

cool. What size/brand are those rims? I want to go to 16s on my 87, and those look pretty cool. If they come in 16 I might keep an eye out for a set.

I have no idea, they're probably 15x7's. I think I have seen them on something else before but I don't remember what.

I also forgot to mention that the guy's insurance gave me $3750 for the car... $650 more than I paid for it, so after paying off the loan I had on it, buying this truck, and paying off my credit card completely, I have $300 left over. :D

Nice ride. Im looking to sell my 94 XLT 2wd in spring if anyones in SE Michigan. Only has 77,500 miles original. Its auto with air, 2wd 4cyl 8 plugs. She rides sweet, just put 99% brand new suspension on her including rear cab corners, all 4 leaf spring mounts, front shocks and lower shock mounts. Only want $1700 or best! Runs straight n true on 4 newer tires less than 3 k miles on em. Also have new front pads, rotors, bearings and seals. Just threw a new starter on her too!

I like it. Thats what I just paid for my 87. I bet it'll last you a while!

Might as well update this one too, since I am only on here once a year apparently... still got this little bastard. I guess it was not as clean as I thought. I have replaced the rear springs, hangers, shackles, shocks, tires, starter, alternator, radius arm bushings, all four ball joints, timing belt, fan clutch, one u-joint, spark plugs, thermostat, probably a few other things. I have 220k on it now and it's still running great.

I also ditched the ass ugly red topper and put a ladder rack on it. The Explorer leaf springs I used to replace the cracked factory ones are AWESOME. I have hauled 1000-1500 pounds and it barely squats the rear suspension at all.

I found a sweet deal on craigslist today for some parts. Guy was parting out a 2001 Edge and I picked up the seats, vinyl floor, tailgate cover, and rust free gas door for $75. I could have got a 4.10 geared 8.8 for another $75 but I didn't have the money. Bummer.

Anyway, got the seats put in tonight. Mine were garbage. These are dirty but in good shape otherwise. Note, seats from an ex-cab are NOT BOLT IN AT ALL! The tracks do not even easily swap. Lots of grinding and cutting.
