back from moab

no pics yet, dad had to beat it to work....got home at 430am today......me my dad and our bud tj went out to moab, we loaded up and left around 4am sat. got to moab around 2. played on fins n things till 3am. got up sunday at 9am, went to mussleman arch, left moab at 7pm. the jeep has a issue now.... it is haveing issues shifting up and down through the gears. we drove from moab to glenwood springs in just 2nd gear. got to glenwood for fuel and the exaust manifolds were glowing. let it cool got back to driveing. it drove fine the rest of the way. dropped our friend off and then it started acting stupid again. On top of that we lost the rear breaks out side of rifle colorado.


the jeep has over 200K on it so i guess its expected. other then the breaks and trans issue no other parts were busted.

ill get pics up after i sleep some. 6 hours of sleep in 3 days isnt working.

my dads tj is a 02, 4.0,tf999 auto. if anyone has any ideas on why its strggleing shifting plz pm me. pics soon to come

FWIW, When my throttle position sensor went bad on my Cherokee it caused the trans to start downshifting and back up at cruising speeds and the engine would run rough and miss. This was right after playing in the mud too.

thanks for the heads up. it had a cel light a couple moths ago and we replaced the stock tps, i think we will change it out and see whats up
