I just replaced my trans after 150k. I managed to find an M50D-R1HD with only 2k on it, and in seemingly decent condition. Now, 2 weeks after the change, I've noticed it starts to whine when it's in gear. It sounds something almost like a turbo whine, very high pitched. It's directly related to the engine revs, and whines through all gears. All clutch pieces are new, flywheel is new, pilot bearing is new, input shaft is in excellent condition, throwout bearing and slave cylinder is new. I'm fairly certain that it has the proper amount of fluid in it, and the fluid only has about 1k on it.

Any ideas on the whine could be?

Are you sure it's not the power steering pump?

I doubt it is. I got underneath it tonight, and talked to some mechanic friends. The driveshaft seal was shot, replaced that. Because of the bad seal, it shat out most of the fluid, so I drained the old and filled it with new. I have yet to drive it though.
