B303 cam worth the time?

What im going to use. For my 2wd 90 ranger m5odr2 5speed 8.8 3.73lsd I have a 98 exploder 5.0 with the gt40p heads and the expo intake. Im going to use a A9L mass air computer and harness, sn95 fuel rail (flows better supposedly) explo injectors, I have a bigger throttle body my friend gave me dont know the size. I dont know what im going to do for headers and exhaust yet besides 2.5 inch pipe with those all flow "fake cats" the tubular exhaust manifolds have some dents so ill probably get headers or have someone make some. So the egr looks legit. Since that tube runs up from the pass side manifold. I know ill need better valve springs and maybe push rods but would the factory rockers be good enough for this or do I need roller rockers. Or am I missing something? Yes im trying to save some cash to keep this whole thing under the projected cost of 5k but the reliability would be a plus.
 
The B cam probably not going to work well with the idle air controller. The B has a nasty lope at idle. Roller rockers are always worth the money spent. They free up a lot of friction and keep the oil cooler. If that motor has more'n 100K miles, check the pushrods upper ends, they tend to wear to a somewhat knife edge on the upper ends because they don't rotate in service like those in a flat tappet engine. The old Shelby type Tri-Y headers will fit your truck with a 57 tooth bell. With the larger 164 tooth bell they'll need to be tweaked to clear the bell.

The ford letter cams are very dated. You can make much better usable power with a comp/lunati cam. I’d look into a 262 cam from either company with those heads and a stock bottom end
 
A Comp 262 is a flat tappet cam and the B303 is a roller. I agree that the B cam isn't a good choice but I'd stay with a roller cam, less parasitic drag and friction, not to mention you won't have to worry about cam wear and zinc oil additives. Comp has a cam selection feature in their website where you can enter info about your engine and how it'll be used to come up with a cam that won't disappoint you. If you go with a 112-114 degree lobe separation it'll have a wide flat torque curve good for street driving. If you can't decide between 2 cams, buy the smaller one and you'll be happier. Big cams work great for drag racing and bragging but they're no fun to drive every day.
