I think it's time I get my gas gauge working. Im tired of running out of gas when I think I have more in my tank then I do. Sometimes it will show about 1/4 tank but most times it wont work at all.... you think I might have a bad ground somewhere? I really dont want to drop the tank... any suggestions?

Most likely a bad float...takes the same one as early 70's ford pickup-round brass, they get holes corroded in them and sink...may be able to get one from Ford or Dennis Carpenter sells them...It happened to my 89...and I've had a couple of other folks with the same issue. Pretty easy fix but you have to drop the tank...good time to replace the sock on the pump while you are in there.

ive already replaced the pump about a year ago. Should have done this back when i had the tank down.

My vote with an RBV is to do what you can while you have a part out because chances are at some point you will have to do a little work there again.
