I want to supercharge my 94 B4000 with the 4.0. What is the best way to do this without breaking the bank. I have a machine shop and can make just about any bracket I need. What all would i need to do for a supercharger.

get the intake off...see what the pattern is of the heads...see how much room you have..(fuel rail wise..) start designing..and building...just curious if you know, is the b4000 heads anything like the ranger 4.0 heads?

let me know if you need advice or anything, i just got done fitting the m112 to my ranger, soo im going through exactly what you wanna

The heads are the exact same, as is everthing else on the truck, save for a few mazda-specific trim pieces.

Supercharging a 4.0 involves custom fabbing a new upper intake manifold to mount the charger to, fabricating intake piping and hooking up a throttle body, and tuning the computer to run with boost. Tuning is easy on a 95+, 94- is kind of tricky. On a 94-, running a well-tuned, adjustable fuel pressure regulator and keeping the boost to 5 psi or less will probably work OK. You can pretty much use the charger off anything. Obviously a charger that came on a similar sized engine would be best.

actually wit hthe moates quarterhorse that they just released you will be able to tune the eec iv pcms in real time with a lap top. pretty neat stuff actually you cant even tune in real time with the SCT stuff. You will just need to find the stock bianary files or extract them with another device that moates also makes.

Exactly. And deciphering the stock binary file if you can find it isn't going to be easy. For most EEC-IV computers except the popular ones, like the LA3 (88 thunderbird turbocoupe) or A9L (MAF 5.0L HO mustang), finding people who can make heads or tails out of the binary code is going to be.... difficult.

Thanks for all the help. I have been told that the M90 is the easiest. Is that true or is there an easiest.

They have harware that can read the stock bin files as well adn there is plenty of software to edit the bianary.
heres an short clip of a guy tuning in rea ltime on a mustang using the clint garity bianary editor.

uhhh not sure on m90 being the easiest...probably will fit the best and such, but i dont know how hard it is to accomidate the external bypass valve...as the m112 and i think mp62, their valves are internal...not sure though, i have not made a manifold for the m90.
