In a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT.(3.0 V6) What are the axles that come stock? And where can I find the answer if it is written on the truck?

I think most came with a 7.5 rearend and a Dana 35 IFS standard rotation up front IIRC.
Someone correct me if im wrong!

There is a tag on the rearend that will tell you the gear ratio wheather its locking or not and if its a 7.5 or 8.8
example 3 L 73 7.5 or 4 10 8.8

many extended cabs got 8.8's by that year.

easier thancrawling under the truck is to check the axle code on the drivers door sticker. theres a list in the tech library to decode the code.

either way you have a d35 front.

If it is an 8.8" rear the diff cover will be flat on the sides and top and bottom.
If it is a 7.5" rear the diff cover will be flat on the top and bottom and curved on the sides.
That's a quick way to spot what it is.

Thats a handy piece of knowledge, thanks
