I am just about to pull the trigger on a new axle and I just want to make sure they will fit.

Will all 8.8 ranger axles fit my 1996 4.0 ext cab xlt regardless if they come for a 3.0, 4.0 or any ranger newer than 1996. The one I am looking at is a 2004 B4000 axle with a 4.10 LSD.

Just want to make sure it will fit.

Yes it will bolt up just fine. Now is your truck a 4x4? If so you need to make sure the gear ratio's are the same.

Any Ranger 8.8" '93-'09 is an exact fit for your '96.
