Axle!!!!!

k so i wanna re-gear my rear end. Got a 1995 2.3L 5 spd short box reg. cab
2WD, and wondering wat i could throw in..i'm looking for a 3.73 with limited slip. Thanks for the help!

Go to the junkyard and find an 8.8 from a 4.0. Most 4.0's had 3.73 in them factory, swap the entire unit. You get a stronger axle this way, and the 3.73's, if you are real lucky, you may even find an axle that already has the L/S in it.

Try car-part.com for what you want. Around here the 3.73 is really hard to find, seems like it varies from area to area. With the little motor, I'd upgrade to a 4.10 depending on how much road driving you do.

the reason i want a 3.73 is i go for LOOOOONG road trips every now and again an wanna retain SOME sort of manners on the gas mileage aspect of things haha. But i would love to have that rear end bite when i punch it...not to mention maybe a lil better traction overall..but thanks sooo much guys for letting me know..I have the availability to run VINs at my dealership that breaks down everything on those vehicles - which in this case i can use to find my 3.73 AND limited slip providing it hasn't been swapped out already
