axle swap break question

i have a 8.8 open with 3.73 gears and 9 inch breaks. im looking to swap in a 8.8 limited with 4.10s. i know any axle will fit as long as its 93+.........my question is does it matter what break size i get as long as the axle is complete with the drums and everything? like i have 9 inch breaks now can i go to a 10 inch with no problem?

also was looking at the fx4 axles will they swap in no problem? even tho they are 31 spline?


still am debating on getting a stock l/s or an open and install a powertraxx?

You can put either 9 or 10" brakes on there no problem. Bigger is always better, so get the 10"ers if you can.

Yes an fx4 31 spline will bolt right in as well. That will get you 4.10's and a limited slip.
