axle substitute 2003 ranger

I am putting a 1969 willys pickup body on a 2003 4x4 ranger with a 4.0
My problem is the ranger rear end is too narrow.
Are there wider ones that will work and will they require modifications?

Too narrow by how much? Explorers are a bit wider, 1 1/2". Any idea of what the axle width was on the Willys? Quite a few options out there.
