this has probably been answered before but apparently my search terms arent working out too well for me.

when you do the DJM axle flip, from the pics I've seen in the various threads. it appears the brackets go between the stock mounts and the leaf springs. it also appears the axle brackets are upside down.

I'm assuming this means the axle is basically removed from the truck and flipped upside down and then put on top of the leaf springs...

is this correct?

how do you compensate for the axle vent hole thats normally located on the top of one of the axle tubes?? also, the brake hard line attachments will be flipped to the other side as well right?? how is this compensated for?? only pics I've been able to find are of the actual brackets mounted is all.

couldnt find anything specific in the tech article either for my questions.

Or do you simply remove the leaf springs and toss them below the axle and I'm thinking WAY too much into this since I'm traveling for work right now and cant look up under my truck?? haha

What a flip kit does it takes the axle and puts it over the axle. You don't physically flip over the axle. in the pics below you'll see stock and flipped. The "U" shaped brackets sit on the leaf springs then your stock spring perches sit on the "U". I hope that makes sense

You undo you axle pull the leaf springs then put the "U" Brackets in place then re hook your leaf springs back up

yup thats pretty much it, unbolt the leafs put em under the axle and bolt everything back together, the flip kit bracket has a hole in it for the leaf spring pin to go in. It's a pretty simple job.

If you actually flip the axle, you would have to but it in reverse to go forward and you would have multiple speed reverse gears.

haha, another thing I didnt think of at the time I posted the question :icon_twisted:

get an explorer axle and bolt it in you will have a stronger axle and rear disc breaks

might as well flip the steering arm too....it's guaranteed that no one will steal your truk!
