Howdy peps. So this was the first serious snow of the year. And the 4x4 was in use the entire day.

Halfway through the day i start hearing a bearing starting to squeak. Its not very loud but it does sound on its way out.

After getting a friend to use his ears to locate it. (passenger side front) I thought it was a wheel bearing. I unlocked the hubs and the squeak went away. So I'm guessing axle bearing.

The real question is How long can I let this go? Normally I like to get on top of a repair. But the next few weeks are going to be very busy. I may not get time to work on this until January.

And I don't expect the snow to go away. Till like the end of march if I'm lucky.

The longer you leave a bad spindle bearing, the better chance you run of wrecking the bearing surface on the axle shaft.
