for all of you guys who have wanted to know if there is a way to use an audio auxillary for ipods, zunes, etc. and havent been able to find anything; today is the day i changed that. I too hated the horrible quality of the fm transmitters. And now since i work for a company who makes radios to be compatable with 2 ways, i learned alot about ciruitry. So i soldered the wires to the board to have the second audio source using the cd board. Well then i ran into the problem of hearing two different songs. so i took it back apart and disconnected the cd data cable. Put it back together and woot woot now when its on "CD" it says error but when i hit play on my zune, its like music to my ears =):yahoo: no more burning cds.

will post a full right up on it later.

edit- by the way i've only done this for the pioneer upgraded stereo with the little center console w/ sub. I'll also do it for my dad since he has the normal stereo and do a write up on that one as well.

oh my geez its awesome

does this mean that the cd player no longer works? just curious

yes. But can be reversed if need be. I saw it as a small price to pay to never have the switch cd's and burn them all the time.

what do you mean 2 songs??? couldn't you just take out the cd? I don't see why it would play 2

i will just buy an aftermarket stereo with an AUX input. You solved a problem that didn't really exist. For all the trouble to do this, I could just take one more load or gasoline on and buy a good radio.

i know alot of people dont like the way the little din- 1/2 look on the dash. and why would i go out and buy another head unit that isnt as good as the one i already have.

and unless there is a cd in the unit, it wont let you switch to the audio from the cd board.

and by 2 songs, i mean it would play the cd & my zune at the same time.

but now i have it fixed to where it works perfect.

what if you put a blank cd in? and i'm interested since i'm too cheap to buy a new head unit

this is very cool you figured out and took the time. i know some people like the the factory look. how ever this is not a noob thing to do. and whats wrong with a hardline fm mod. you get an RCA input

im sure a blank cd would work.

but whats a hardline fm mod?
