Automotive technology you miss.

I dont remember what it was but one of my dads old cars had a record player in the glove box. It was essentially useless unless you were parked though.

Found a pic of @Dirtman's DAD

Yea, except my dad hates that guy with a passion...

How many of ya'all remember the Reverberator units from the mid 60's ? (No Dirtman, not a vibrator) :icon_rofl:
Would make your am radio almost sound like a stereo. Had one in my 64 Falcon Sprint along with the upgrade push button am radio.
And don't forget the WonderBar radios...those were "the cat's meow" back in them olden days.

The fancy cars like the Lincoln's, Caddys, Chryslers, had them as a factory option. The better ones had the turntable mounted on springs so it was possible to drive with a record playing.
Better ones were just like mini juke boxes and held several records while the cheaper ones only held one record. My best friends mom had a 59 Caddy Convertable with an under dash unit.
Great for double dating at a drive-in with a box full of 45's.

I have an old air horn from a semi, just never found a spot under the hood where it would fit nicely.

I had a friend in Lufkin I'd stop by sometimes, we worked offshore together, he was a motorman and did ordering & receiving for the drilling rig. He ordered two ship fog horns so he could take one home. I stopped by once and rung the door bell and that ships foghorn blew from top of the barn.

I used to want one of those to blast back at the ones who'd pull up beside you at a redlight with a 1000 watts of rap blaring away

Jay Leno showed a Chysler in one of his latest shop tour videos with another Youtuber, and that car had a record player as a factory option, but you had to buy your records directly from Chrysler because they lowered the turn table speed to reduce skipping. No other country or manufacturer used that record speed.

Originally the records those used were smaller in diameter than the standard 45 of the day and you did have to buy them special. Later players used the old standard 45 rpm's.

Today I took the PCM out of a circuit.

Stupid 2011 Escape, the PCM feeds vehicle power to the trans range sensor, this one wasn't, no power right at the PCM plug, so I replaced it, new one did the same thing, so I just connected that feed to the 12V source for the fuel injectors. Car runs now.

They are integrating that into car seats. They plug into the OBDII port and monitor the engine status and buckle in the infant seat. Neat idea.

The 2019 Ranger has that. It will throw up a warning everytime my girlfriend's daughter pops her seat belt off and the truck is still running. It even gives a count of how many occupants are not belted. Neat and annoying at the same time.

I second the 8-track. Nothin like jammin out and having the track change in the middle of the song...

My "lake" is the ocean... my poop is ending up there one way or another.
