Driving home yesterday my front passenger tire started to make noise. Got home and found 3 of 5 lug nuts missing. They were torked to specs last tire change and rechecked after 500 ks. I have spares so pulled it apart what a mess. On the shaft were bits and pieces of shim washers and what I call roller bearing washers. I have looked for an exploded but cant find one. I have spare hubs but am not sure of the order of install of shim washers and roller bearing washers. I have a stock 89 ranger xlt 2.9. Any help would be great. Also great site learned lots here and am still learning thanx Mark

What is a "roller bearing washer"?

Are you talking about one of those flat, washer-looking, bearing units?

One of these goobers:

They are called Torrington bearings.

check out the manual hub swap article in the tech library. that should have some pretty good pics of the guts of the auto hub.

this is definately a great opportunity to do a manual hub swap
