So, I picked up an overhead console from a '95 or '96 Explorer as well as the autodimming rearview mirror it had. I have the wiring for everything sorted out except for the Auto Lamp Delay slider.
It is my understanding that the Auto Lamp feature picks up on the ambient light outside and decides when is appropriate to turn on the headlights. The delay slider controls how long the headlights stay on when the ignition is switched off.
My question is: Am I supposed to use the output wire from the mirror to trigger a relay or set of relays that control the headlights? Or is this function tied into the computer on the donor Explorer?
This whole setup is going into my 88 B2. I've got everything down just perfect except for that one little thing.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
