auto trans problem after being stuck


btw the trucks got 322.000 kh on it so im gonna pull a line and see if the pump works after i clean the pan put it back on and fill it with new fluid and after i test the linkage if it still doesnt work im gonna go for the new trans
 
and i just found out the trans is from a 4x4 will it work with my 2wd if i take the transfer case off?
 
pump works i even went as far as to skip the trans cooler on the rad and put it from the pipe going to the rad right into the pipe from the rad and still nothing any ideas?
 
No, a 2wd transmission has a tailhousing leading up to the driveshaft, a 4wd transmission has a round 5 bolt pattern with a big hole for the transfer case to bolt onto.

And no, you cannot just swap out the tailhousing, the spline count is different also.

You need a 2WD transmission.
 
well looks like the trans is gonna have to come out is it possible for it to come out the bottom? as soon as i find out and i get a warm day thats what im doing i guess and then ill start taking the trans apart and seeing if i can see anything wrong with it if i can and its an easy fix ill do that if not new/used trans it is. any ideas on if it will come out the bottom?? thanks in advance
 
before taking the trans out, have you tried servicing the trans
it is cheaper and may fix your problem
it will also give you a chance to check if there metal in the tranny

yes i have taken the pan out cleaned it [no metal dirt nothing just clean red trans fluid i drained it cleaned the filter and then put it and the pan back on put new fluid in and still the same thing and i disconnected the lines from and to the rad to check the pump and its working a1.
 
well that really sux dude
the trans does come out the bottom you may need to disconnect some of the exhaust
