I have a 99 ranger and I swaped the auto tran out and haveing a problem geting the tran to go in the last inch or so.What could I do to,so I can bolt it up?? So close.Thank you for a reply>

Is the torque convertor in the front pump all the way? See if there is a gap between the convertor and the flywheel.

Thanks Brett for the reply: I bolted the convertor and its tight against the flywheel.

before or after the transmission was tight against the block?

You MUST install the torque converter on the transmission BEFORE you bolt it to the flywheel, or serious transmission damage WILL result!! You slide the torque converter onto the input shaft of the trans and turn it while pushing on it. You will feel it click into place TWICE. Once it's seated properly, THEN you bolt the trans to the engine and bolt the torque converter to the flywheel.
