hey, .y grandma has a 1993 ford f-150 with an automatic 5.0 liter V8, and im wondering if i could put the automatic engine in my truck, which is a manual, i dont know how different the transmissions are, i know a 302 will fit, but i need a little help with the tranny

any motor can be bolted up to an automatic or manual tranny. i dont know if a 302 will bolt up to your tranny. but if you do a swap you have to use the v8 wiring harness when you drop it in. i think you can use an automatic harness with a manual though. but if you have a 4.o in your ranger my opinoin is that you should just leave it how it is. good luck

Use the trans that comes with the motor, any idea at all what it is? Best to ask any more questions down in the V-8 swap section, them guys will take care of you.

A V8 will not bolt up to the transmission currently in your truck. You should check the tech library here on TRS, there is alot of good information on this subject in it.

if i get a manual tranny and a different engine can i swap the whole set up, how much modifying will i have to do?
