okay i have a 93 ranger 4x4 that i changed over from auto to 5spd. which wires at the transmission make the loop for the neutral switch. round plug has red/blue stripe,pink,blk/pink stripe,purple/pink stripe,red/white stripe......square plug has red,orange/yellow stripe, purple /yellow stripe....... ive connected the plug on the clutch switch and i tried connecting the red/lt.blue stripe with the pink all i get is a click at the selonoid...... which ones are for the back up lites ?

On my 89 A4LD trans there was a 5 pin plug which had the back up light wires and the wires to allow cranking as well as a pink wire which I believe was for converter lock up.

Black with pink stripe and purple with orange stripe wires hook up to the back up light switch on the driver's side of trans.

Disregard the pink wire; the remaining 2 wires go to the neutral sensing switch on the passenger side of the trans, or the clutch switch if you want. Either way the engine will crank when you are in neutral or have the clutch depressed depending on which way you choose. With a little luck you will have the same color wires.

This is what worked on my 89 with a 93 Mazda trans installed. Even if your wire colors are different, just find the hot wire and touch it to each of the others till the reverse lights light, then touch the other 2 together and turn the key to confirm they are the neutral wires. As mentioned before disregard the pink wire. Hope this helps.:icon_cheers::icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

okay i finally had time to go thru the wires, the purple w/pink stripe and the black w/pink stripe go to the reverse lites !! the red w/blue stripe and the pink go together for the neutral switch, the plug for the clutch switch had a cover on it that bypassed it. it plugged directly to the switch. all other wires were cut and taped up...... works great .....thanks for the help....
