Auto-lamps

Has anyone ever tried to put auto lamps in their older RBV. I've been mulling this idea over for about 6 months now since my mentor tech brought it up as a joke, but I've been giving it some serious thought and just wanted to know if anyone has tried it.

Auto lamps? as in the lights come on when you turn the truck on? I wouldn't do it just cause its kind of pointless when you can just flip on the headlights anyways...
