Hey! i have an 86 with push button 4x4. one of my hubs went out its like $125 for a pair of automatic hubs. so ive been wondering if instead of geting some more automatic hubs if i could just get some warn manual hubs?? if i did would i have to convert anything or what? what y'all thing?

If it's still a 28 and I bet it is I would look for a used set of manual hubs. When you find a set get the nuts that set the bearing tension on the spindle.Spend a little time double checking but I think thats all you need.

Manual hubs are cheaper and way more reliable than auto hubs. I got a pair of manuals brand new for $75, plus $25 for new spindle nuts. The spindle nuts for manual hubs are different than the auto hub ones. All you have to do to convert to manual hubs is swap the spindle nuts.

there's a write up in the tech library that will help install them. i did it in maybe 10 minutes, both sides
