I have 1 BII with auto hubs that is being converted to manual hubs from my 2nd BII. These are both 1989 BII's. Both are 28's.

Here's the question; do I need the conversion kit (spindle nuts) if I have a donor BII to pull the manual hubs & any other parts from??

Thanks...

nope, just jack up one tire on each BII at a time and swap over parts from one to the other

just gotta take off the two spindle nuts and lock ring. inner nut is set to 16 in, lbs then lock ring then outer nut is set to 150 ft. lbs non lifted or 250 ft. lbs lifted. rotating torque should be 25 in. lbs max. at least thats what my 91 and 93 rangers call for. and you should weld a little materal on the tab that slides into the grove into the spindle otherwise the nuts like to loosen and then your gonna be blowing berings left and right (thats from experince, took out 4 sets of berings in a month before i figured out that the lock ring was the problem)

happy trails!!

Got it.

It's up on stands and ready for the switch. While waiting for the reply I changed out the front shocks. Rears are next. Looks like the gas tank is in the way..

Thanks!!!
