auto hubs,grease

how much grease should be in the hub's? I know they need some grease,and I can use a axle shaft to force grease in to the hubs,but how much.just enuff to get the internals greased up, or should the hub be packed.

I use just enough, you don't pack it like a wheel bearing. One or two fingerfulls ought ta do it.

well according to the TRS tech Library you should clean them out with brake cleaner and ATF and not grease them at all http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/HubDiagnosis.html

One finger full glob is perfect.....just enough to keep it lubed, it does not need to be packed or submerged ect.

i use 80w90 gear oil myself. ive also since switched to manual hubs. but go with a oil, not grease.
