Aussie Lock in Front - Question

Im sure youll be fine. Im just over the border in RI and am out in every single storm even if there is a traffic ban. I never have had the need to use 4wd on the road at all. With a good set of tires (I run BFG A/T) 2wd has been more than enough driving down unplowed roads. My town has 4 plows so nothing is ever plowed anyway.

Good luck just go slow turning in 4wd:icon_thumby:

It snows a lot here in MA and my work calls for me to be in during heavy storms, so I think I will probably use 4x4 on the highway going straight and disengage when in the back roads. Unless needed in the back roads, I will just take turns slow.

It seems I see more 4x4 in the ditch than 2wd. I suspect it is because of a false sense of security brought on by the traction of a 4x4 accelerating on snow and ice. Unfortunately the same traction isn't there when cornering and stopping [I know this isn't technically true but it feels like it]. I only use my 4x4 on back roads and when taking off from stops, and still occasionally need to remind myself about leaving room to stop [after nearly blowing thru a stop sign :icon_surprised: ]. And when in 2wd that occasional rear kick-out when too much gas is applied reminds me about how slick it is out there.
