do you need to buy a new shifter linkage cable for the automatic transmissions when you did you're lift? i searched and could not find any thing? this is for a 1999 with the 4.0

I did not put one on my 99 Ranger, just the steering linkage extender. I used the PA bl lift complete kit.

Anybody else??

From my knowledge, the only things needing extension is, as Stray said, the steering.

FYI, on the Sport Trac board a guy said that you can use S-10 tow hooks and not have to cut the valance or leave them off. Can't say for sure that it would work on a Ranger but it might. [/hijack]

I actually have an S10 tow hook for my Bronco II as well. They are very simple, the hook has two holes with threads, and a big bolt just screws into each one. I had (accidentally) ripped off my front bumper and it fits nicely in the holes left at the front of the frame.

You can see it on the passenger side frame rail of my old truck. I am going to use an angle grinder or drill or something to make a hole in my new trucks bumper to put it back on, without being bumperless...

Dude...you drive that thing??? lol

No, you don't have to extend the cable. Just the steering linkage, a few ground wires, and drop the radiator with the relocation brackets that are supplied. In some cases you have to extend the fuel filler hose too, but the kit should come with the hose. I think I still have one from the body lift on my 03' if you need it.

Not anymore, its a cube now.
I have a nicer one, with the nastiest two-tone Blue-on-gold paint job...

Whats wrong, you dont like my missing window (Exploded in a wendys drive thru) missing bumper (dont tow from a stock push bar) and angle-grinder trimmed fenders? Piece of crap? Sure. But functional none the less. (moreso than my friends seemingly always-broken 4runners... stupid toys)
It only cost $500, and until I blew the clutch out it ran nicely... Now I have the axles, and pretty much everything from inside the engine bay, short of the block, sitting in a box.

"new" truck. Completely stock for now... brackets are in the mail.

i put a body lift on my 94 ranger with NO extensions at all, no steering or cables or anything just jacked it up and threw in the body lift blocks and bolted it together and all is well
