Attempting a swap on 92' Super Cab

Ok. I removed the right valve cover and found a few castings there. Also, I did see the S cast on both the heads. Here are some pics of my findings. I also saw a "19" cast in the corner along wuth a ford logo and "0F27" cast on the head which makes me believe it is a 92' model. Am I right?

I would say those are probably E6 heads but the best way to tell is to pull the intake and check the casting # on the under side by the push rods. Looks like a crown vic engine or at best a base stang engine. The 302 firing order and grey injectors are the give away.:dunno:

thats like what i want to do with my b2, using a crown vic 5.0...holler at me if u need a hand

also not bad on the motor, my 2.8 is way nastier inside

Definately E6 heads, but you're off on the year. 0F27 translates to June 27, 1990. Yes, it's worth $200. It is a roller motor and a good core for future builds. (block, crank, rods and miscelaneous parts)

Well this engine is in the process of getting stripped of all its electronic parts, cleaned, getting a few new parts, and hopefully going in my 92 ranger. this is my first attempt at somethingl ike this so im sure I'll have plenty of questions. Thanks to everyone for all your help.

BTW baddad, I'm going with an edelbrock performer rpm intake, holley 570 street avenger carb, aa swap headers, but i'm not sure which distributor i need. i want a complete unit with cap and all, prob msd. which one do u recommend?

Pertronix. Or do a Duraspark system, 85 Mustang GT with manual transmission, this was the only O.E. application with the steel cam gear with a carb. You can buy this dostributor rebuilt at many parts houses for about $60 with an exchange core (doesn;t have to be that exact application core) Never was a fan of MSD.

I found the distributor at Advance part #30-2831 and the Duraspark box at O'reilly part #CBE7. Are those the right ones?

i just did the duraspark not long ago, buy blue box(blue where the plugs are) and a carb'd disty, theres two diff styles, bosh and ford...get the ford, bosh is all wierd. duraspark will make the swap so much easier. i believe u can plug your stock plugs for the sensors(for guage) into the 5.0's, if not just put your 2.9 sensors in the 5.0

Its fairly cheap too. I think it was only like 39 or 49 bucks at O'reilly's on Gray Hwy.

:dunno: Sorry, I don't have the time to look up part numbers. If you asked for the correct application, you should have received the correct part. As I said before, 85 Mustang GT with manual transmission is the only application using a Pre TFI Duraspark distributor with a steel cam gear. The automatic trans 85 GT's had a flat tappet cam and iron geared distributor. 85 manual GT's were the only year that had a carb with a roller cam.

Cool. I'm pretty confident that they're right. Thanks for all your help baddad!

that one and the oriellys in forsyth is about the only places ill go...everybody else are friggen idiots. whatever u do dont go to the one on pio nono. the lady sent me all over the place for a 180* stat for the b2...when i got there it was the wrong part. she also told me that it would take her 3days just to check and see if she could even get a part, then another 4 days to ship. forsyth had it in stock. what a lazy ass

I used to work at the one on pio nono. I worked there for 2 days lol. Those stupid ass people didn't know anything about parts.
