My 95's ashtray doesn't come out when I pull on it. Were they available as a option or standard on all trucks? I just ask because either I'm stupid and don't know how to operate the ashtray on the newer style dash or it doesn't have one.

Not sure whether Ford got into that, but some manufacturers took the step to make it anboption...way more non-smokers to cater to...my 95 Suzuki had one...and I've seen many newer vehicles with them...

Ash trays just pull straight out...haven't seen one yet that had a locking door...if your truck has a plug like the old lighters used with a cover over it and a power symbol on it then you might not have the ash tray with the lighter/accessory plug.

Most newer vehicles have a power adaptor plug right on the dash.

Mine has the flip out power plug under the dash and the cigarette lighter on the radio bezel. I read the manual to determine which one was which. I even read on how to pull out the ashtray. But it still won't come out. But here's the weird part, if you look up underneath through the pull handle, you can see that there is a screw holding the "ashtray" in. I've never thought about pulling it out, but now that I think about, I should try that to see what happens. I hate not having a place to store my change........

might be stuck from god knows what the PO had in it, try removing that screw and pulling out and a little down

I just ask because either:
- I'm stupid
-don't know how to operate the ashtray on the newer style dash
- it doesn't have one.

Can we make this a poll? :icon_rofl:

Seriously though,
Its probably just stuck.

I found out what was wrong with it. The ashtray was apparently broken and the previous owner had used what looks to be like a concrete screw to hold it to the dash. It would completely fall out when pulled all the way. :annoyed: Now I have to figure out what's wrong with it. I hate whoever owned this truck before me.

i've had several occasions where i've wanted to slap the previous owner of my truck

Right?

This truck I just bought needs a tune up bad. It has original plugs and wires! :icon_surprised: The fuel filter is rusty as hell, the front of the bed ain't attached to the frame due to bad rust, probably from the drop in bedliner. Has half assed wiring for a previous trailer wiring harness and a harness that plugs into the truck the right way.

yikes :icon_surprised:

the p.o. had my truck 8 years, i dont think he cleaned the interior once, i took a leaf blower to it before vacuuming and steam cleaning the seats and pressure washing the carpet

then there was the gaping hole in the dash, he took his good deck, but he did give me a deck, it was just tossed in the hole, no wires to hook it up

theres other things but those are the ones that stand out
